Opportunity to study in the US and $1 million in Scholarships for Vietnamese students

On 21 June, 18, during the visit in Viet Nam, The Rev. James J. Maher, C.M – President of Niagara University announced  the $1 Million NU-Brennan Scholarship Gift to benefit Vietnamese students at Niagara University, New York USA and the extensive cooperation between Niagara University and the IMPERIAL Group in the training of Hotel Management major in Vietnam.

The “NU-Brennan” Scholarship was established with the desire to bring favorable conditions for students who have excellent studying performance in the fields of science- society, education, tourism and hospitality, and an economic need.

The scholarships are available for all Vietnamese students pursuing baccalaureate, master’s degree or doctoral degrees. The criteria is a combination of achievement and financial need.  This scholarship, combined with current Niagara University merit scholarships is worth up to $26,500 USD/year.

Also in this occasion, IMPERIAL INTERNATIONAL Hotel School (IIHS) of IMPERIAL Group announced the comprehensive cooperation agreement with Niagara University on the basis of each other’s strategic partnership. Accordingly, two parties pay special attention to the Hotel Management Program – Advanced Diploma (2 years), and the short-term courses training on the hotel operation management (4 months and 9 months) which will provide opportunities of getting jobs or/and quick promotion for the graduated and unemployed students, towards an international standard human resources training for the hospitality industry in Vietnam. This collaboration will maximize the strength of each party, in which the IMPERIAL 5* Hotel is an excellent advantage for practical training, developing the internationally qualified workforce.


Certificates and degrees will meet international standards and qualify for transfer to undergraduate and graduate programs at Niagara University. Students will have the chance to continue their studies, career development as well as gaining high positions in their employment. This training cooperation will meet the need for high quality workforce for Vietnam hospitality industry’s integration with countries in the region and the world. And in the future, this qualified workforce maybe exported to Asian countries.
